With over 20 years of marketing products and services online, my work has touched millions of lives. It may have even touched yours, but you probably wouldn’t know it. It’s the kind of thing that non-disclosure agreements are made of. You know, the “If I told you, then I’d have to kill you (because they’d kill me)” kind of stuff.

I love being behind the scenes, designing systems and processes to make businesses work smoother and more profitably; creating better customer experiences, and empowering dreamers to realize their ambitions. I love watching someone’s eyes light up when they realize it wasn't as hard as they thought to get their business launched online.

I’ve done a lot of crazy and exciting stuff over the years, learning as I went, through trial and error, because well, I really had to being on the forefront of digital marketing.

SOME FUN FACTS ABOUT ME

1st Domain

I bought my very first domain, organizeme.com, back in 1997 when they sold for $200 each. I created a scrapbook supply organizing system and officially became a “C.E.O.” 

Affiliate Marketing

I joined the affiliate network Commission Junction back when all you could link to were company names. Amazon had recently launched their program.

Penny Ads

My first Google AdWords campaigns were ran for a penny a click. Yes 1 cent! (I guess I am dating myself here.) If only we could go back to those prices. Right?

1 Million Reasons

Customer Service is my thing! I took my customer-centric strategies and helped grow one client’s social following from 40,000 followers to over 1 million, all organically, in 20 months.

Build A Blog

I helped launch and grow a blog from nothing to over 190,000 unique monthly followers in less than 20 months. Creating a plan and working it was key to posting 4-5x a week and promoting on social media.

Price Check

I noticed some trends in how people ordered from one of my clients. I recommended a pricing restructure & we relaunched. She made over $50,000 that weekend! (More than she’d ever made in a single month!) And, it just kept growing.

Superwoman, Huh?

"Superman might be a comic book tale, but Superwoman is alive and well. Her name is Bonnie Schroader…” a reporter once wrote. Now that was some serious pressure! I really think he meant I was a “Chief Everything Officer” ;-).

Dr Gets Checkup

I convinced a physician to dump a $60,000 billing system that needed major updating and go with a $495 software package from a new company because of one specific feature it had. In 12 months, revenues increased $200,000 only changing the software.  It’s all about the features and benefits, baby!

Here's what's Cooking!

I started a Yahoo group back in 2003 for followers of “Saving Dinner” and had 2,000 people join within 48 hours. Who knew so many people also didn’t know how to cook! Later, I’d help publish 6 books with multiple clients, 4 of those being cookbooks. I’d contribute works to two New York Times Best Sellers.

Romney + Obama + Me

In 2008, I got frustrated with our  School District who educates over 26,000 students. So of course, I did what every mom does (ha!) and ran for the School Board. It was crazy seeing my name on the same ballot as Mitt Romney and Barak Obama. I spent $38 total on my campaign. I won. I was reelected in 2012.

3 Key Pieces of Advice I'd Give You

Advice I give to those looking to start a new business or to start any venture really, the advice is global.
  • Ready, Fire, Aim! Get started and you can refine as you go. Procrastination kills more dreams than anything else.
  • Lay a strong foundation that will support rapid growth. Think big! It's harder to restructure the basics down the road. (That's why I have a roadmap for you in CEO-U!)
  • Network and learn with others because growing a business is a team sport. One person will never know everything there is about online marketing and every possible niche out there. Surround yourself with brilliant, like-minded people. We become like the 5 people we spend the most time with.
